Capitol Records is one of American music’s great institutions. Known to old-school vinyl nuts and young whippersnappers alike, the venerable label looms large over pop music history—just like its unmistakable tower looms over the Hollywood skyline. We’ve been taking our fans and friends to different parts of the U.S. to look at all aspects of the music world this summer. Recently, we gave two Slurpee fans a chance to tour the Capitol recording facility in LA, and even sit on a session with legendary producer Tom Rothrock. Singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur was the one laying down the new track, with support from R.E.M.’s Mike Mills on keys. That might be just another day for the folks at Capitol, but it was a once in a lifetime experience for these two lucky individuals. Check out a recap of their day in the video above, and download the 7-Eleven app for your chance at more freebies from 7Rewards.
